Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has made a name for herself.  There are very few people who don’t know her name or face.

She was:

cast in Barney and friends at 7 years old

works for 2 years with the purple dino. (You know you watched it).

cast in Walker Texas Ranger for two episodes

a small part in Spy Kids 3

gets a small walk on in the popular Suite Life of Zack and Cody

becomes a recurring part in the very popular Disney TV show Hannah Montanan

does some voice work for the popular blockbuster starring Jim Carrey: Horton Hears a Who

finally becomes one of the main stars in Disney’s The Wizards of Waverly Place. After all of this stardom, she drops 2 CD’s and a movie role in Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie.

Suddenly, she begins dating some kid who put himself on youtube and dropped 1 album.

And BAM!!

She’s now known in Fashion mags, Teen Mags, Yahoo chat rooms, all over the star circuit and the net as:

Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend

Really?

Why did Selena Gomez loose her status? No longer is she Selena Gomez the actor. Selena Gomez the singer.  Selena Gomez the star.  Now she’s some guy’s accessory.

We must opt4 equality! We must opt4 women not loosing what they have earned because they are dating someone. We must opt4 ladies seen for who they are.

Prevention is the belief that we can stop violence before it happens.  Prevention is the idea of sharing tools, resources, and ideas for social change to encourage healthy relationships.  It’s about finding alternative methods to conflicts rather than fists, fights and weapons.  Prevention does not hurt others through power, control, jealousy or pain.  Prevention is founded in peace and compassion with education and advocacy leading the way.

Prevention can stop the cycle of intimate partner violence and sexual assault; we just have to opt4 it.  Join the effort and opt4 a safer and non-violent community.  Opt4 being a proactive bystander and opt4 peace.

<3 The Heart <3

When we discuss relationships or how people are coupling at any time point in history or in the future, we must speak about the heart. The heart is how we first feel that that other person might just be interesting enough to see them more, and it’s also the ways we first feel that that other person just needs to go away. The older we get the more protective we are of the heart.

We don’t want it to get hurt.

We defintelty don’t want it to break.

We want it to be full of love and joy.

Promote all healthy relationships in order to protect all <3.
